MARIKO TAKEI / Norwegen - Japan

Mariko Takei is born in Kobe, Japan where she took her Associate Degree in Piano at the Osaka College of Music. Later she attended the Grieg Academy in Bergen where she studied churchmusic. She was awarded a culture scholarship by Bergen County and in 2002 she completed her master’s degree – a study of Max Reger. From 2004 she continued her studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen with Professor Hans Fagius as teacher. She took her concert diploma at her debut concert in Copenhagen in 2007. She has regularly attended master classes with Olivièr Latry, Ben van Oosten, David Sanger and Guy Bovet. She has continued her education with Hans Fagius and Ben van Oosten. Mariko Takei has given concerts in Scandinavia, Europe, the USA and Japan and she has taken part in many international festivals. She has cooperated with choirs, soloists, chamber ensembles and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Mariko Takei is currently employed as a church musician in Solheim and at St. Mark´s Church in Bergen. Her CD, Ein feste Burg, with music by Reger, Schumann, Bach and Reubke was recorded in St. John’s Church in Bergen in 2012.

She also studied carillon at the Løgumkloster Churchmusic School in Denmark and got a qualification of carillonneur 2014.
